The original X opened January 12th, 2002. It was scheduled to open in summer of 2001, but numerous design flaws caused it to be delayed. It opened exclusively for season pass holders on December 24th, 2001. Although, the ride was not functioning properly, it closed june 2002 due to issues with the trains, it re***ened in August 2002, but still had problems! It closed December 2nd, 2007 to be transformed into X2. It re***ened May 24th as X2 with new trains, a red and grey color scheme, on ride music, and a timed fire effect! It still remains in the park today and is the most popular ride in the park. …

It is designed to test the riders fears of bugs, the dark, speed and demonic imagery. This ride uses LIMS, or linear induction motors, to propel riders from zero to 45 miles an hour.
